MARITIME AUTONOMY | IN DEVELOPMENT

NAUTILUS

Vessel integration, onboard autonomy and protected remote control.

NAUTILUS is AIC’s maritime autonomy platform in development for crewed boats and uncrewed surface vessels. It brings communications, onboard observation, navigation and vessel control into a common software architecture. Pilot integration conversations are open.

Deployment

Onboard computing with remote supervision; configuration subject to vessel and pilot requirements.

Key Differentiator

Documented equipment interfaces and onboard checks on control authority, with local manual takeover and physical emergency arrangements retaining priority.

Maritime autonomy for the vessel you choose

NAUTILUS is AIC’s maritime autonomy platform in development for crewed boats and USVs. Its architecture connects propulsion, cameras, communications and operator controls. AIC licenses the core software. Proposed terms give customers control of their hardware, operational data and adapters.

WAVE handles communications; HORIZON onboard vision; RECKON navigation assessment; COURSE mission proposals; WATCH control authority; and BRIDGE equipment interfaces. NAUTILUS CONN is the operator application in development.

Control when the shore link fails

Offshore operations cannot assume continuous communications. Equipment interfaces, navigation quality, control ownership and loss-of-link behaviour must be assessed together on the selected vessel.

Local decisions within agreed limits

The architecture keeps observation, navigation assessment and local control aboard. A signed mission package sets the objective, area, data requirements, reserves and contingencies. Continued operation during an outage depends on those conditions and its authority remaining valid.

What a pilot should establish

Confirm equipment interfaces. Test navigation uncertainty, loss-of-link responses, rejected commands and manual takeover. Compare the onboard journal with measured vessel behaviour. These are proposed acceptance checks, not reported results.

Capabilities

WAVE communications; HORIZON onboard vision; RECKON navigation assessment; COURSE mission proposals; WATCH control authority; BRIDGE equipment adapters; NAUTILUS CONN operator application. In development.

Integrations

Documented interfaces for selected propulsion, cameras, communications and operator controls. Equipment support must be confirmed for each vessel.

Identity Support

Unique device identities and verified endpoints form part of the proposed architecture; deployment validation required.

Data Residency

Proposed commercial terms give customers control of operational data. Confirm storage and transfer arrangements for the selected deployment.

Encryption

SHACE-based protected communications. Operational remote control requires a reviewed post-quantum profile, verified endpoints and a tested key lifecycle.
